This fundraising video project was simply a way to give back to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) after they helped my brother and his family.
After a very courageous battle, I lost my ten year old nephew, Paul, to brain cancer in February 2013. During the difficult time leading up to his death, my brother and his family traveled back & forth to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis for Paul’s tests and surgeries. Since this required being far from home for them, they were able to use the wonderful charity that is the Ronald McDonald House. And it was during this exhausting time for all of my extended family, that I got to experience, with intimate immediacy, the immeasurable kindness of that charity.
I will never forget the days I spent visiting with Paul and my brother’s family at the RMH in Indianapolis. Nor will I forget the home cooked meal by volunteers that I received that first evening there. I am not eloquent enough to express in words the kindness & hospitality I witnessed first hand. So when an opportunity to “pass it forward” presented itself to tell a success story for the Evansville RMH, I sought it out.
I hope you enjoy learning about the Hoehn family in this video – which was used for a sucessful fundraising event for RMH Evansville. But more importantly, I hope after watching, you support this worthwhile charity in Evansville – or in your own community.
