Tissue Bank

Tissue Bank

Event Photography
Shot in a documentary style, with only two lenses in about a 45 minute timespan, I consider this “composing in the moment”.  But some very awesome moments occurred in that small amount of time and all of these pictures contain real heroes.  Sometimes, my job as photographer simply requires being ready for those moments to happen.

Here’s a gallery of select images from the 2016 IU Simon Cancer Center tissue bank held at OHA in Evansville, IN.  Truly an inspiring sight to witness – since everyone there was volunteering their time. All the doctors, nurses, surgical assistants, phelbotomists, runners, donor escorts, cheering section, height and weight checkers, smoothie chefs :-), all were there volunteering in the effort toward finding a cure.  And of course, the amazing tissue donors themselves – courageously donating tissue in the fight against breast cancer.
