Here are a couple of 30 sec broadcast TV spots edited for MetroNet – a telecommunication services company headquartered in Evansville, IN.
Lately, I’m mostly working in the corporate video world. But commercial video production is where I “cut my teeth” and it is a pleasure returning to that creative place. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but part of why I love what I do, is that I often get to work with other creative people in the marketing and advertising industry. Watch this first commercial and then read more below.
I truly enjoy getting to collaborate with creatives, that is, marketing directors, graphic designers, producers, photographers and other video professionals whose talents only help to make my work appear better. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to learn from very talented directors of photography, grips, gaffers, producers and directors on large budget, tv commercial productions. If you watch enough local or regional tv, then you’ve seen spots I’ve helped create. And there’s no doubt that creative decision-making can sometimes benefit from having a variety of inputs from multiple professionals, all working to achieve the same vision.
But it’s also fair to say that sometimes, creative vision doesn’t require large budgets, sets or even a huge crew. These video commercials, from two different marketing campaigns, use simple stock footage to pull off what I think are nice, effective spots. These were both a collaboration with Onswitch Creative. And in this case, the vision could easily be seen on the storyboard, so it is not mine. My job, was to simply bring that vision to life by compositing some graphic elements and editing short video clips together.
Here’s the 2nd spot created for the business division for your enjoyment:
