When I had a chance to produce another video for the local Komen affiliate, I knew it would be seen by folks who contribute to the mission. And so I was thrilled to simply allow those who have been touched by breast cancer to describe, in their own words, what Komen has done for them…
I think we live in a very noisy world. It seems each day, there’s a cacophony of voices and opinions vying for our attention. Some, perhaps most, of this noise is of our own making. Modern media, especially the “social media” kind, is always begging for our attention. And then there’s just all that chatter. After awhile, even important things people have to say can get drowned out by all the noise. So I invite you to take a small part of every day & just reflect on those important people in your life. And how they got there & why they are important. Tune out the marketing and advertising, Instagram and Facebook feeds. It’ll do your soul some good.
My hope is that, maybe, if we let our world become just a little bit quieter, more reflective and thoughtful, we might all get to know some good, soulful people. And that has to be good for the world rather than all that chatter.
So I hope you watched the video and now have been introduced to Jennifer, Corbin, Tabatha & Brenda. Yes, it is a marketing video to help raise awareness and funds. And the video shares a little bit of each of their stories. But maybe, just maybe, you didn’t just hear them, but rather felt how they’ve been touched by breast cancer.
