Corporate Video Production

Indiana’s Governor Pence was the featured speaker and part of a large crowd of employees and dignitaries that gathered for the groundbreaking of Alcoa’s expansion at their LaPorte facility in LaPorte, IN.  I was hired to shoot b-roll to distribute to the invited media before the actual groundbreaking ceremony and to also cover the event for both external & internal communications for Alcoa corporate.  B-roll, for those who maybe haven’t heard the term, is perhaps an out-dated description used in film and video production to describe video or footage used to cover – or in conjunction with – the lesser used term “A-roll”.  In this instance, the media would be given access to the dignitaries speaking at a podium (the A-roll), and then my footage from inside the plant (B-roll) could be used to supplement the visuals as they put their stories together for the evening news.

This new 320,000-square-foot facility is part of an exciting time at Alcoa as they broaden their reach into the large commercial jet engine market.  The $100 million facility will produce advanced components for the industry’s best-selling jet engines.

You can learn more about the LaPorte facility, now part of Arconic, here.  And now that B-roll is part of your vocabulary, you may boastfully pretend to be a big-shot producer or director.  🙂
